Samsung Strengthens its India Commitment, Plans to Hire round 1,000 Engineers from IITs & Top Engineering Institutes to Work on Cutting-Edge Technologies

 

 

At Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore, Samsung R&D Institute Noida, Samsung R&D Institute Delhi, and Samsung Semiconductor India Research in Bengaluru, young engineers will work on cutting-edge technologies.

 

 

Samsung, India’s biggest patron electronics brand, is planning to employ around 1,000 engineers for its R&D institutes throughout India that encompass Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore, Samsung R&D Institute Noida, Samsung R&D Institute Delhi, and Samsung Semiconductor India Research in Bengaluru. These younger engineers will be a part of 2023 and will work on new-age applied sciences such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, image processing, IoT, connectivity, cloud, big data, business intelligence, predictive analysis, communication networks, system on a chip (SoC), and storage solutions.

 

Samsung will recruit engineers from more than one stream, such as computer science and allied branches (AI/ML/Computer Vision/VLSI, etc.), information technology, electronics, instrumentation, embedded systems, and communication networks. In addition, it will hire from fields such as mathematics, computing, and software engineering. Strengthening their focal point on innovation and ultra-modern technology, Samsung’s R&D centres purpose to appoint new brains from India’s pinnacle engineering institutes who will work on leap forward innovations, technologies, merchandise, and designs, together with India-centric innovations, that enrich people’s lives.

 

This will add to our vision of "Powering Digital India," stated Sameer Wadhawan, Head, Human Resources, Samsung India. This hiring season, Samsung R&D centres will appoint roughly 200 engineers from pinnacle IITs such as IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, and IIT BHU, among others. They have also provided over 400 pre-placement offers (PPOs) to students at IITs and different top universities. Samsung lookup centres in India have filed over 7,500 patents in areas such as multi-camera solutions, televisions, digital applications, 5G, 6G, and ultra-wideband wi-fi communications protocols.

 

Many of these patents have been commercialised in Samsung's flagship Galaxy smartphones, smartwatches, community gear, and digital applications, amongst others. Over the years, Samsung R&D centres in India have constructed a sturdy subculture of patent filing. At the Samsung R&D Institute, Bangalore, for instance, a large range of patent filers are first-time inventors in emerging domains such as 5G, AI, ML, IoT, digital cameras, and other imaginative and prescient technologies. As a result, the R&D centre has emerged as the number one patent filer in India for innovations created in India and first filed in India, as well as receiving the National IP Award for 2021 and 2022.
